Stop Hunger Now 2016

On Saturday, May 21, another fun, productive event was held. This year SHN was held at Madison High School. Ninety people pitched in and we packaged 20,000 meals!! We are very proud of everyone that helped make this event possible. Our packaged meals were sent to Haiti.

Sandy Relief

On Sunday, Aug. 10, we provided dinner at the Highlands Hosting Center for 70 hard-working volunteers rebuilding homes at the Shore. Many thanks to all who prepared food, served and made donations to this project.

A Future With Hope Volunteer Day

A team of 13 from our church, plus several Drew students spent a day in Atlantic City painting, cleaning and clearing debris from a Sandy-damaged home in Atlantic City.

The Highlands Hosting Center needs the following supplies for volunteers who stay there: toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, Lysol spray, trash bags, bottled water. Items may be left in the box in the library.

Our church is committed to helping others in our neighborhood and around the world. For example:

  • Interfaith Food Pantry, located in Morristown, provides supplemental groceries to Morris County residents in need. All ages of our church participate in supporting the Pantry - through prayer, ongoing food collection, and financial donations. During November, children and adults contribute items for Thanksgiving and the youth group helps with the Pantry's Thanksgiving Basket distribution. Click here for a list of current food needs.
  • Family Promise of Morris County is a faith-based shelter for homeless families. Volunteers from our church help out when homeless guests stay at nearby St. Vincent's Church in Madison.
  • Habitat for Humanity - We would like to get a group together to work at the Strickland and Orchard Street sites in Madison. Please contact us if you are interested.
  • Through The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), the not-for-profit international humanitarian aid organization of The United Methodist Church, we have been able to help victims of spring storms and floods throughout the U.S.
