Oikos is the name of a ministry for The United Methodist Church in Madison, where we pair international students with Madison congregants to become conversational partners - to learn from one another, practice language speaking/hearing, and fellowship.

Oikos is a Greek word meaning a "household or family". Throughout this ministry, we want to remind ourselves that despite difference and diversity, we are one family in the image of God our Creator, the love of Jesus our Savior, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit our Helper. Moreover, we hope that the congregation and international students grow as one family.
